Wax Equestrian has been Djing for well over a decade now starting out as a dj on a pirate radio station ‘Green Apple’ (West London) 1991 originally spinning hardcore & techno, staying with them for quite a few years then moving on to PointBlank108FM www.myspace.com/pointblankfm , now  London’s longest running pirate Dance station (circa Nov 94).

All through the 90’s Wax played at many of the big House parties throughout the Home Counties as well spending endless weekends at Queens in Colnbrook, The Centre, Slough and Shoom in Kensington listening to the likes of Andy Weatherall, Carl Cox, & Grooverider taking influences from a large spectrum of sound & genres.

Summer 2002 Wax won a dj competition in DJ Mag which got him a slot at that years Homelands Festival playing in the Space Arena alongside Sasha, Layo & Bushwacka, Sander Kleinenberg to name but a few this gained him bookings all through Europe in Russia, Spain & Holland, as well as on tour with Chew The Fat when Ibiza got its 1st taste of Breaks in summer 2003 playing alongside Paul Arnold & Justin Rushmore a.k.a Soul Of Man… Having been mixing for such a vast time has meant that he virtually plays anything he considers will work with the crowd to get them hyped up.

Wax’s mixing style is aggressive yet seamless and  quick with the beats matching deep within the beats & definitely dirty.

2003 also saw him start a new weekly web based radio show on NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk  on  Tuesday nights 11pm till 1am,  called Stable Frequencies.

This alongside the then well established  Thursday night “BrazenBass” show on PointBlank108FM with Dj partner Tom ‘Duke Of Hazard’  also coincided time wise with Wax linking up with fellow dj’s Sparkie, Dave Vice, Sidetrakka, Peanut Pete & the Duke, to form Broken Home , who then began “Mumbo”, a monthly Breaks’n’House night which rotated round  clubs in Reading & Bracknell and currently still going regularly in Maidenhead @ The Phatz Bar under the ‘ViceVersa’ moniker.  The crew have also built a reputation for some cracking free/outdoor/woods parties in Berks and Bucks.

In 2005 Wax & fellow Broken Home Dj’s joined forces with Brixton’s PointBreakz Cru www.myspace.com/pointbreakzradio  (whom they all had known for some time from radio shows on PointBlank108FM) to do monthly breakz  nights which have been a sounding success since Oct 05 hosting nights with Atomic Hooligan, Deekline & Wizard, Elite Force & many others. Wax also guest spots @ London nights  Planet Angel, Vice Versa + Tweek & Bleep, has recently played for Manitou free parties and since Jan 07 alongside the PointBreakz All Stars co host’s on bi weekly rotation a new radio show on www.Breaksfm.com (The 5 times Award winning Best Radio @ Breakspoll Awards) .  PointBreakz Sessionz goes out worldwide on Thursday nights 5-7pm & have gained a huge following & interest from within the breaks scene in America especially Florida.  Wax also co-hosts  the “Broken Home” show, Monday nights 11pm till 1am on Breaks FM

Between his busy roster of radio shows & gigs Wax puts out his own edits & tracks & has collaborated with many artist’s & labels since 2002.

His latest track ‘Zig Zag’ out on the London label WutEva (April 07) is a bit like his dj style a bit wonky, a bit funky, a bit twisted delivering vocal snippets, squelchy synths and skippy beats to create the perfect dirty funker.

Dopamine, who needs no introduction, has taken all the filth and funk of Wax’s original flipped it over done rude things to it and left it to simmer in the Australian sun. The result is astounding.
