6ft Stereo at 'We Love London' (The End)
On Saturday 22nd March the good people from 'We Love' put on a do at The End in London
Whilst the main room was populated with the usual classy house DJs 'We Love' hire, the bar room was was let open to the insanity that is '6ft Stereo'.
and their "Original Vinyl Karaoke Culture bringing democracy to the decks" - musical anarchy.....wicked
Essentially these guys give ANYONE the chance to bring along a few records and play for 20 minutes or so.
With NO music policy apart from they had to be 'good' records
I was invited along to the party and naturally took a fwe pieces of choice vinyl along with me, I took the sort of stuff i wouldn't normally be able to fit into and modern set but that i love.
(Artists like "Kariya" and "Oh well" for those who are too young to remember it was 'proper' old school house)
....to cut a long story short there were numerous other people who had a great time playing records to an up for it crowd .
A totally different approach to club partying , we heard everything from hip hop to house , thru funk to punk and it was totally refreshing for me....an old school clubbing vibe where anything goes.....
Well worth checking out a 6ft Stereo party if they come to your area
